Value Chain Analysis
|
A value chain is a chain of activities that a firm, operating in a specific industry, performs in order to deliver a valuable product or service for the market. In a manufacturing plant products pass through a chain of activities and at each activity the product gains some value. The chain of activities gives the product more added value than sum of the independent activities' values. Value Chain Analysis describes the activities that take place in a business and relates them to an analysis of the competitive strength of the business. Analyzing the value of each chain of activities can help achieve competitive advantage to outperform its competitors through product differentiation through higher quality or formulate a strategy based on seeking cost leadership through reduction in the costs associated with the value chain activities, or a reduction in the total amount of resources used.
The consultants at ConNet have considerable experience in value chain analysis in different type of production and marketing operations.
